1. 'CardShark2 requires the .Net Framework....'
CardShark2 is written in a Microsoft .Net programming language and therefore requires the .Net Framework to be installed. This is a suite of files that support any program written in this group of programming languages. Once these files are installed on your computer they will be used by any future programs you install that are written in these same languages. To install the .Net Framework, go to the folder where you unzipped the setup files and locate the dotnetfx.exe file. Run that file by clicking or double-clicking the file and follow the install instructions. After installing dotnetfx.exe, rerun the setup.exe file to install CardShark2.
2. 'MDAC version 2.6 or later must...'
CardShark2 makes use of a database to manage and report on historical play. If your computer does not have up-to-date database support files installed, they are available with the installation files. Go to the folder where you unzipped the setup files and locate the mdac_typ.exe file. Run that file by clicking, or double-clicking, the file and follow the install instructions. After installing mdac_typ.exe, rerun the setup.exe file to install CardShark2.
3. I don't know where the install files were unzipped
After downloading the setup file you will be prompted to select a folder to unzip the install files into, or you may use the default folder. The default folder is your PC's default TEMP folder. For many users this is located at C:\Documents and Settings\your-name\local settings\temp.
If you don't see the files there, and don't recall where you unzipped them, simply unzip the setup files again and either change the default unzip location, or be sure to note where the files were unzipped to. Then navigate to that folder and run the setup.exe file to install CardShark2.
4. How do I unzip the setup files?
The installation file is a self-extracting exe. You simply click(or dbl-click) on the .exe file and the files will self-extract into the default folder. You may also select a folder to unzip the files into. Once you have extracted the files, navigate to the folder where they were extracted and click on the setup.exe file to install CardShark2.
